The Artist James Steven Farnsworth
I grew up in a family where music was a part of our daily life. My mother, who was an excellent pianist, piano teacher and singer, evoked in me a love of music from the very start. I began playing the violin at the age of 11. My mother arranged that my brother Keith and I would consistently study and develop as musicians. We would perform together (piano and violin) at various judged recitals that were held throughout the year.
Since deciding to play professionally, I chose to train with teachers of the classical realm and also with great fiddlers. These studies enable me today to offer a wide range of violin music from polished Classical to Celtic, Blues, Italian and Jazz. In 1993 I founded "Sound of Celebrations" - Music performance for celebrations and ceremonies. Under this title, I play for Weddings, Grand Openings, Anniversaries and other Celebrations. In 1993 I started the Elder Care Music Therapy program: "Encore For The Elders." My service of Graceful Passages was founded in 1993, directly after I performed for the funeral of my mother, Constance Glendora Farnsworth. In 1994 I invented the concept for a special gift known as "The Fiddle Gram." Instead of sending a Telegram for a Birthday, an Anniversary, for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, I work with my client to compose a very special mini serenade, plus bring beautiful roses to your dear One. In 2015 I began to provide the service of The Healing Violin (Also known as Sweet Breeze) for the benefit of the elderly who live at home and are affected by various handicaps or debilitating conditions. This provides a special gift of therapeutic music for these individuals not in contact with the retirement home/elder communities music programs. I also perform for the Elders living in Retirement Communities through my Encore For Elders Project. |
